Frequently Asked Questions

A few of the questions clients most often ask. If yours isn’t here, just send a note.

We’ll start with a few minutes of conversation — what brings you in, anything I should know about your body, what kind of pressure you tend to like, and which areas of the body you’d like worked on or kept off-limits. You are always in control of the session: any area can be added or skipped at any point, and you’re welcome to ask me to adjust pressure, change positions, or take a break without explanation.

Then I’ll step out so you can undress to your level of comfort and get under a sheet on the table. You’re covered the entire session except for the area being worked on. At the end I’ll step out again so you can dress, and we’ll talk briefly about what came up. The whole experience is built around your comfort.

For relaxation massage and myofascial release, most people undress to their underwear or fully — whatever you’re comfortable with. You’re always draped with a sheet, with only the area being worked on uncovered.

For polarity therapy and foot reflexology, you stay fully clothed; loose, comfortable layers are ideal. (If reflexology is added on to a relaxation or myofascial session, you’ll already be undressed under the sheet for the rest of the work — no need to dress in between.)

Relaxation massage uses flowing, full-body strokes to settle the nervous system. Myofascial release uses slow, sustained pressure to soften connective tissue and unwind chronic patterns. Polarity therapy is gentle, clothed energy work that rebalances the body’s natural flow. Foot reflexology focuses on the feet, where reflex points connect to the rest of the body. Most sessions blend two or more — we’ll figure out the right mix together.

For sessions in your home, I bring everything I need: table, sheets, oil, music. You provide a clear space about the size of a queen bed. Mobile visits are currently available in Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Belleville, Saline, Milan, and Dexter — or communities at an equivalent distance; just ask if you’re nearby. Mobile rates include travel within those areas.

A week or two of notice is usually enough to find a time that works. For weekends and evenings, more notice is better. If you have a tight window, ask anyway — I’ll let you know what’s possible.

Not at this time. Sessions are paid directly. (TODO: confirm whether you’d like to mention HSA/FSA eligibility or anything about superbills.)
